The Austin
Taylor No 1. pillar is a compact and versatile enclosure designed for
mounting of CATV, telephony or other equipment.
It has
an integral base and body for single operation installation.
Its
compact size when installed (just 600mm above ground) minimises the
pillar's environmental impact.
The lift off cover is easily removed to give excellent 180 degree access
to the backboard.
Its
slam latch mechanism allows the cover to be replaced without using the
key.
Equipment
may be mounted on either or both sides of the galvanised steel backboard.

Materials
Base is 2mm ferritic stainless steel.
Cover is 1.5mm ferritic stainless steel.
Protection
IP55 in standard format.
Backboard
Galvanised steel backboard as standard. Stainless steel, aluminum, marine
ply or chipboard are available on request. Star punched or custom punched
units are available in all three of the metal versions.
Ventilation
Convection currents draw fresh air in through louvres at rear of pillar
which are protected by insect-proof mesh.
Finish
Polyester powder coating. The gloss finish enables graffitti to be removed
using mild solvents or mild abrasive compounds. Standard colour is green
(RAL6009/6)
